Gold Rallies, Breaking Through Critical Barriers on Fresh US-Iran Peace Hopes
Gold surged more than 3% on Wednesday, reaching its highest level in nearly six weeks as renewed optimism surrounding potential US-Iran peace talks eased inflation concerns and weighed on the US dollar.
The move marks the strongest market reaction in over a month, with the latest rally breaking above the range ceiling at $4,203. The advance was further supported by the lower boundary of the thickening daily Ichimoku cloud, generating strong bullish signals.
However, these signals still require confirmation through a sustained break above the highlighted barriers. Such a move would pave the way for a stronger recovery and bring the next major hurdle at $4,304 into focus, representing the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement of the $4,889/$3,942 decline. A clear break above this level would strengthen the case for a broader trend reversal.
Improving technical conditions are also supporting the bullish outlook. Positive momentum continues to build, while the formation of a daily Tenkan-sen/Kijun-sen bullish crossover points to strengthening upside potential and an improving near-term technical picture.
Geopolitical developments are expected to remain the primary driver of price action. Market participants are likely to closely monitor comments from President Trump, whose frequent shifts in stance have often fueled volatility and significantly influenced investor sentiment.
Further gains may encounter stronger resistance around the $4,200 zone due to the importance of these technical barriers, prompting some investors to lock in profits. Nevertheless, any corrective pullbacks should ideally remain above $4,166, the recently broken 23.6% Fibonacci retracement of the $4,889/$3,942 move, to keep the bullish outlook intact and maintain scope for further upside.
